Statistics Primer

Tree-ring studies and statistics go hand in hand. Through statistical procedures, dendrochronologists can test many hypotheses. Dendrochronologists utilize both simple and highly sophisticated techniques for tree-ring analysis.

Two methods that are used frequently include "correlation analysis" and "regression". The methods of these two procedures have been reviewed in detail at the front page for PBIO-415/515 Quantitative Methods in Plant Biology. Please feel free to access this site and review these procedures.
