Cacti and Succulents

Cacti and Succulents

This is one of the permanent collections maintained in the greenhouse. It contains a wide variety of cacti and succulents, with nativity's from all over the world. The specimens range from the small sizes of Lithops, Fenestraria, Crassula, and Haworthia to the larger specimens of Cereus, Euphorbia, Opuntia, Agave, and Rhipsalis. Approximately half of the room, or 100 square-feet, is used as a permanent planting area for larger specimens. These are planted in raised beds outlined with cinder block, filled with sand, and topped with decorative stone mulch. The remaining available space is occupied by hanging baskets and floor benches that contain individual potted specimens.
