The greenhouse provides an area for graduate and undergraduate students, as well faculty, to perform plant experiments in a more controlled environment. Four small rooms (200 square-foot each) have been set aside for this use. Some of the research projects utilize plants that were started in the greenhouse and transferred to experimental sites throughout Athens County and the surrounding region. There are also on-going experiments that could not be completed without the constant use of the greenhouse. For instance, the picture at the left is of artificial stream tanks that are used in algal research.
